12 Percent of Women Will Be Diagnosed
According to a recent study by BreastCancer.org, 12 percent of American women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, but 43 percent of women have no life insurance.
Considering it is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, women are encouraged to be checked by a doctor and look into life insurance that will ensure their family's financial security.
"Seven in 10 women agree having life insurance is a necessity and all people should have it," explains Marvin Feldman, president and CEO of the LIFE Foundation. "The decision to go without life insurance could put families at financial risk during a time of emotional and financial stress."
Women Are Often the Family Breadwinner
In the recent presidential debate, Barack Obama said that women are increasingly becoming the breadwinners in the family. Prudential Financial research has shown that 53 percent of women are the primary breadwinners for their household.
A separate study points to the importance of stay-at-home moms and their financial impact. Investopedia estimated that one year of household chores would cost $96,261 to replace.
Life insurance is useful for anyone who has someone depending on them financially. The LIFE Foundation showed that there are 11 million fewer households with life insurance compared to six years ago.
