Favorite vacation spot: There are a ton of interesting places to go and things to see, but I travel a lot as part of my job so I would have to say my living room couch. I would rather stay home when I have the chance.

Favorite website, magazine, or book: I really like the App “Flipboard” – it lets you aggregate your Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin accounts along with news and articles a ton of publications like Forbes, TechCrunch, and Politico all in one place…I love it!

How long I’ve been in the insurance industry: I started my “official” career as a financial advisor with my family's insurance agency in 2004, but I contend that I really joined the industry as an eight-year-old who finally started to understand what my parents' frequent conversations were about. It’s pretty hard not to pick up general terminology, concepts, and planning rules when you grow up in a family where both parents work in the industry – more accurately, eat, sleep, and breathe insurance.
Why I chose to be an agent: In February of 2004, my wife and I along with our then three children decided we had had enough of the cold Utah winters and wanted to return to California. At the prodding of my father and with the encouragement of my wife, I joined the family insurance brokerage agency where I started to help other advisors with their problem planning case and difficult underwriting problems. I loved it and wanted to learn everything about the insurance industry, financial planning, and investments that I could. I haven’t looked back since.
